These were commissioned to sit under a mantlepiece. They are carved of sycamore. The faces are my take on the 'Green Man' figure that appears throughout history in various guises, and is a favourite of woodcarvers. However, there is rarely a 'Green Woman'. Seeing as we were doing a couple, it seemed a shame not to buck the trend.
The final pieces were given a light wash of a white pigment, and a good dash of linseed oil.
